We are thrilled to announce our 4th Annual Fall Regional Gathering, taking place October 28 & 29, 2017 at the Embassy Suites in Livonia, Michigan. Attendance is limited to 140 individuals, so don’t delay!
We’ve heard time and again that you wish you could hang on to the feeling of the NSA Annual Conferences all year long, and that there was another shorter, lower-cost conference experience. You asked, we heard you, and now we’re bringing you exactly what you’ve asked for! Start on Friday evening for a Meet & Mingle, then get ready for a full day of workshops and fun on Saturday, followed by an open microphone/weekend wrap up breakfast on Sunday. It’s everything you’ve come to expect from the NSA, just on a smaller scale. You can find the same education, empowerment, friendship, good times, great location, and most importantly, the freedom to embrace your speech.
Our conference hotel, the Embassy Suites in Livonia, Michigan, provides an ideal location in southeast Michigan. Renovated in March 2016, the hotel features a newly designed atrium, guest rooms and meeting spaces. Centrally located 20 minutes from Detroit Metropolitan Airport, downtown and Ann Arbor, the hotel offers easy access to neighboring Farmington Hills, Plymouth, Canton, Laurel Park Mall, Twelve Oaks Mall and other upscale shopping and restaurants. Complimentary parking onsite. Make a room reservation at our group rate of just $127/night (+taxes/fees). Space is limited, so contact us today to reserve your spot!
Whether you’ve never attended an NSA event in the past, or just want to return to your stuttering family for a brief weekend refresher, you will find yourself in a place where everyone shares a common bond and understands exactly what you’ve experienced. We know that attending an event such as this can be daunting, but remember that although only 1% of the population stutters, at our conference YOU are the majority!
In addition to fun social outings, we’ve got a weekend full of education and empowerment that you’ve come to expect from NSA events. Take a look at a few of the workshops we have lined up for you…
Owning Your Space (Pam Mertz)
Impromptu speaking and small talk can be challenging for most people, but especially those who stutter. Join us to explore how we can move from dread to excitement and learn to look forward to these and other speaking situations.
Year-round Support (Kenny Koroll)
How much support do you need in dealing with stuttering? How much do our loved-ones need? For some, simply attending an annual conference and/or regional event is enough. Some find enough support attending monthly chapter meetings. But what about those who attend every possible event and still need more support? This session will discuss other available avenues of support for those who need it.
Stuttering in the Workplace (Cameron Francek)
I stutter, how will I find and keep a job? Should I advertise my stuttering at work? What will my boss think of my speech? Join us to discuss real-life, practical strategies to help handle stuttering in the workplace, create our own professional experience and to leave a lasting impact at your organization!
Thank You, Sponsors!
Each year we receive sponsorships and donated items to support the logistics of our events. As a non-profit organization, we operate primarily on donations, and it is thanks to donors like these – and like you – that we are able to continue to bring hope, support, and empowerment to people who stutter of all ages year after year. In particular, we wish to thank the Short Family, Meridian, and Niskar Law Firm, PLLC for supporting us for the 4th Regional Fall Gathering.
