Just For Kids Who Stutter...

nsa-kids-logo1aBeing a kid who stutters can sometimes feel lonely. Isn’t it great to find out you are NOT alone? There are about 3 million people who stutter in the United States and over 50 million people who stutter in the world. You may not know very many people who stutter, but they are out there and many have learned some of the same things that you are learning right now. See some video of other kids who stutter from the 2009 NSA conference...click here.

Being a kid who stutters can be challenging and difficult sometimes. Stuttering is one of those things that not many people understand. You can learn more about stuttering and help other people understand it better, too.

Remember that stuttering is only a small part of who you are. No matter how big it feels sometimes, it is not the only interesting thing about you. You have a lot of good ideas. Your parents, your speech teacher (if you have one) and the NSA are here to help make certain that stuttering doesn’t stop you from doing anything that you really want to do!

No matter what, you are not alone and we are here to help!

Find a local Youth NSA support group near you

Note: There are two types of youth support groups:

  • NSAKids groups for children from 5-12 years old, their parents and SLPs

  • TWST (Teens Who STutter) groups for teenagers 13-19 years old

YOUTH support groups are identified by the dark orange color in the directory listing.
