Conference Terms & Liability Waiver

If you are attending an NSA event, including the Annual Conference, please take a moment to review the terms below. These help us create a safe, respectful, and supportive experience for everyone.

​By completing your registration and attending the conference, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

1. Participation and Assumption of Risk

The NSA Annual Conference includes workshops, group discussions, social events, and other activities.
​
You agree to follow all applicable local laws and venue policies during the event.
​
By attending, you understand that participation is voluntary and that you assume responsibility for your own well-being throughout the event.

2. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release and hold harmless the National Stuttering Association, its staff, volunteers, partners, and event venues from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from your participation in the conference.

3. Personal Responsibility
​
You are responsible for your own health, safety, and personal belongings during the conference.
The NSA is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

4. Medical and Emergency Situations
​
In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize conference staff to seek appropriate assistance on your behalf if necessary.

You are responsible for any medical expenses incurred.
​
5. Photography and Media Release​
​
The NSA may capture photos and videos during the conference for educational, promotional, and community purposes.

By attending, you grant permission for your image, voice, or likeness to be used by the NSA unless you notify us otherwise in writing.

6. Code of Conduct

The NSA is committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment.

The NSA reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is disruptive or harmful to others.

Social Media Policy

The National Stuttering Association’s (“NSA”) official social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest) are spaces for people who stutter, family members, professionals, stuttering allies, and community members to connect, share experiences, and support one another.

Community Standards
Our social profiles serve as an open and welcoming forum for discussion. We encourage respectful, supportive conversations that reflect our community's values. Please keep comments constructive and appropriate, and comply with the social platforms' terms and policies.

While our goal is always to maintain an inclusive and supportive environment, we reserve the right to remove content, including links to external websites that we determine (at our sole discretion) to be unlawful, misleading, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate at any time. This may include, but is not limited to:

We also reserve the right to restrict or ban users whose posts or behavior violate these guidelines. We do our best to monitor our comments closely, but things may occasionally be missed. If you notice something concerning that needs our attention, please send us a direct message.
Content Rights & Permissions
By submitting or commenting with testimonials, comments, photos, videos, or other content on any of our social pages or posting your own content with NSA-branded hashtags, you grant the NSA permission to use, publish, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content for lawful purposes. This may include educational, informational, or promotional use across our platforms, including our website, social media, and marketing materials.

Please only share photos or videos that you have permission to share. If individuals appear in your content, you must have their consent. If a minor appears in your content, permission must be granted by a parent or legal guardian.

Intellectual Property
All NSA graphics, artwork, educational materials, and branded visuals are the intellectual property of the National Stuttering Association. These materials may not be copied, altered, reproduced, redistributed, or repurposed in any form without prior written authorization from the NSA.
