    < Back Previous Shelly Jo Kraft Presenter Shelly Jo Kraft, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor and Director of the Behavior, Speech & Genetics Laboratory at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where her current research focuses on the biological and behavioral genetics of developmental stuttering. In addition to being an international scientist and a clinically active speech-language pathologist, she brings extensive training in neuroscience, molecular human biology, and genetics to her work. Since 2017, she has led her private practice, Songbird Counseling & Consultation, PLLC, in Sylva, NC. A formally trained Gestalt therapist through the Appalachian Gestalt Institute, she integrates EMDR into her work. Jamie has served clients of all ages for over 20 years, holds a Gerontology certificate from WCU, and earned her M.Ed. in Community Counseling in 2005. She has supervised 50+ clinicians since 2008.
