About the event
We all carry stories about ourselves as people who stutter—stories that shape what we think we can or can’t do. Sometimes those stories are old, outdated, even self-critical. Many of us play these old tapes on repeat, which shape our sense of potential.
For this special NSA Connects, join John Wade, PhD, and Sebastian Scala for a candid conversation about re-authoring those narratives—and even taking them one step further: defying them.
John will introduce narrative therapy, showing how we can examine our self-talk, create more supportive inner dialogue, and build stories that serve us better. Sebastian will offer strategies to break free from those old patterns and truly live the life we want.
Meet your hosts:
John Wade, PhD – Licensed psychologist, distinguished professor, and NSA member since the 1980s.
Sebastian Scala – Writer, speaker, athletic coach, cocktail lounge proprietor, and NSA member for 35 years.
