About the event
In this session, we will explore the intricate relationship between the five stages of grief – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance – and the experience of stuttering from the perspective of parents of children who stutter.
Through open dialogue and shared experiences, participants will have the opportunity to explore their own feelings and reflections surrounding stuttering, whether personally or as caregivers. By recognizing stuttering as a natural part of one’s identity and journey, we aim to foster understanding and provide support in navigating the emotional landscape that accompanies a stuttering diagnosis.
Join us for a compassionate and insightful conversation as we unravel the layers of grief and stuttering, ultimately empowering individuals to embrace their experiences and find strength in their journey towards acceptance.
This session will be facilitated by Nicole Kulmaczewski, M.S. CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist | Ally of Stuttering™ Co-Executive Director, Myspeech https://myspeechhub.org
