About the event
Take a journey through the history of the National Stuttering Association. What started as a small project, the National Stuttering Project (NSP), grew from co-founder Michael Sugarman’s simple idea: to connect people who stutter.
Hear firsthand from those who helped shape the NSA into the organization it is today. Michael Sugarman shares his vision for peer-led support and global stuttering awareness. Paul Young, who led the board during pivotal moments, reflects on the challenges and milestones of growing the organization. Marybeth Allen brings the perspective of a long-time chapter leader, offering insights into the dedication needed to nurture local support chapters.
Moderated by Douglas Scott, an NSA member for 40 years, this session includes audience Q&A and an opportunity to share your own memories of joining the NSP/NSA.
All are welcome to join to celebrate the past and look toward the future of the NSA!
